“ Lockhart BBQ in Oak Cliff is as good as any bbq restaurant in the city of Lockhart - home of Central Texas BBQ. It's pricey, parking sucks, traffic sucks, the inside is small, did I mention the bbq is great? Worth the inconvenience. ”
“ This place was delicious! As a foodie from the north, I always make it a priority to get some good Texas bbq when I'm down here. Terry Blacks blew my mind, and Lockhart followed it up well with some generous portions, succulent seasonings and a flavorful array of smoked meats and sides. Everything was very good. Nothing was excellent. That's my only negative comment. This place does everything very well, but nothing really blew me away. Texas is known for its brisket, and yet the brisket at Lockhart was good - just not like mind-blowingly good. If you're a diehard BBQ fan and are expecting excellence, Lockhart might not be the place for you. But pretty much anybody else outside of this sphere is sure to be wowed by their powerfully aromatic spread of tender, salty, heavily seasoned meats. ”

No problem, drop into their remote location, Lockhart BBQ in The Bishop Arts District of Dallas. They're perched on the corner of Davis and Bishop--next to the tattoo parlors--and act as the gateway to Dallas' most eclectic neighborhood. Lockhart has a full bar (lots of local beers on tap), seating enough for a crowd, and damn good BBQ. The adventure starts around the corner and in the back. No trays. No dishes. No utensils. Just bbq wrapped in paper as god intended. I had their Pork ribs, sausage, and some potato salad. It didn't suck. In fact it REALLY didn't suck. You're gonna wanna get some of that and put it your face. Good stuff. Don't go late in the day cause those who know will have gotten there first and left you without. Be sure to get a beer, cause bbq without beer is something a yankee would do. Their beer is served in mason jars, cause that's how beer in a bbq restaurant should be. This is a place for men with beards and the women who love them. Get in there and enjoy! ”
